NFL talk unchained

Jim

Raised thousands of miles from the grid iron, Jim found the NFL the way most Brits probably did, late night games on Channel 5.

Watching this strange game, Jim saw a player with the body of a tank, but legs that did not stop moving. It was this player that convinced him to keep watching, and also to pick the Pittsburgh Steelers as his team; “Watching a 2003 Jerome ‘The Bus’ Bettis, drive through defensive lines was the eye opener. To see someone who had players hanging off him but whose legs were always spinning round to move forwards just sealed it for me. To see him finally get into Canton after watching him win a Superbowl for the Steelers was very satisfying. Plus I got to see him interview at Wembley!”

Denver Dave @DenverDave30

Dave joined the podcast as a full time host in 2019 after joining a few episodes prior.

Dave might have been close to being a Giants or Jets fan after a visit to MetLife stadium to watch monster trucks! But the colour orange called to him and Denver found a new son.

His favourite ever Bronco is Andy Janovich and is still not over the guy’s trade away from Denver. Dave is the guy who will put his prediction out there for all to see and sometimes, he gets it bang on.

Punk Raider @Punk_Raider

Pappa bear Punk Raider has been with the podcast since the start, but in typical Raider fan style, has been lurking in the shadows. It is only now that Punk has become a regular fixture on the podcast, giving his historical insight into the NFL for which he has been watching since the days of Bo Jackson and John Madden.

A man who looks like he was born in the black hole, Punk is the de-facto judge and jury on most arguments that break out on the podcast.

Fin @FStallwood17

A young man with flair and incredible hair, Fin’s support of the Seahawks brings some welcome NFC balance to the pod when he makes an appearance. Not one to shirk a chance to stir up a conversation, Fin is quickly becoming a regular fixture on the pod. Something everyone is happy about.

Philly Si @si_philly

Look at that, another supporter of an NFC team! Si decided to support the Philadelphia Eagles, and got to watch his team lifting a Lombardi against many odds while contributing to the pod (the lucky swine).

Si has moved from the main base for TFD and, as a result of being incredibly busy, is no longer a full time member, but always a welcome addition when the stars align.

The King

Jim’s original podcast partner that launched ‘The Jim & the King NFL podcast’ back in 2016. The King helped to get the podcast into a place that it could expand. A Chargers fan because of his love of San Diego, maybe it was the move to LA that pulled some of the magic, but the King decided to step back from main duties and is currently enjoying some time away.

But there is always the door open for him to come back if he wants to dust off the crown!
